Sarah Thomson, CEO Canvas and Cave
Sarah is an entrepreneur with over 30 years experience in development, marketing and media. She began her career in construction, building developing and branding over 40 convenience stores in gas stations.
Sarah built Whatmough Management Inc. into a multimillion dollar corporation creating store brands for service stations, as well as leasing and operating dozens of locations across Canada.
Sarah is also the Founder and CEO of Women’s Post Media, Canada’s daily online magazine for professional women.
She is an active environmentalist with decades of volunteer experience. Sarah served as Chair of the Board for the Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy, 2012 – 2013; volunteer CEO and founder of the Transit Alliance (2011-2018). And she currently volunteers with SlowFood Barbados
Greg Thomson, CFO Canvas and Cave
Greg is a data-driven executive with a passion for improving the world. He helped to build and is Director of Research and co-manager at Charity Intelligence, the premiere charity analyst firm in Canada.
Greg is also co-owner of Women’s Post, Canada’s online magazine for businesswomen.
Previously, Greg worked as a strategy consultant at Monitor Company, helping organizations analyze all aspects of their strategic direction. Greg earned his B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from Queen’s University and his MBA from Harvard University.
Brian Crombie, Advisor Canvas and Cave
Brian has an MBA from Harvard Business School 1988, an HBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, 1982 and is completing a DBA from ISM 2013. Brian graduated a Baker Scholar with High Distinction from Harvard and Dean’s List from Western.
Brian has been operating Crombie Capital Partners for the past five years providing strategic, financial, M&A and advisory services for this client and several other clients in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, alternative energy, sports and entertainment, private education and other industries in Canada, the United States and Ukraine. Brian has worked for firms, Venture Capitalists and Private Equity Investors.
Brian has 20 years of corporate experience, a depth of knowledge in all facets of finance, strategic planning and corporate / business development for a wide breadth of companies in several industries.
